Toronto’s thriving barbering community came together at Throne Barbershop for an extraordinary event called Unity this past Sunday. This collaborative gathering showcased the power of creative collaboration and education within the industry. With Andrew Tran, an esteemed Eikonic graduate, playing a pivotal role in organizing the event and serving as Emcee for the night. His journey from student to educator underscored the importance of continuous learning and mentorship within the industry.
Unity at Throne Barbershop brought together the barbering community in Toronto, showcasing the transformative impact of creative collaboration in hair, fashion and music.
The event highlighted 6 live barber transformations with demos featuring prominent barbers including Thaddeus from Gradient World, Alex Palov from Silver Arrow Salon, and Mark N from Throne Barbershop.
Following the live haircuts, audience witnessed a live photoshoot inspired by 80’s nostalgia shoot that captured the blend of traditional and contemporary aspects. Men’s hair fashion and the barbering trend in Toronto are currently undergoing substantial changes as a result of diversity and outside influences. A recurring motif in the hairstyles created at Unity featured models sporting longer tresses with lots of movement, textures, and perms — all expertly crafted with precise scissor cutting techniques and inspired by European fashion trends from cities like London and Rome.
