What inspired you to teach or work in the hair education?

I believe that hair is an exciting career path that combines the arts, sciences, technology, social intelligence, psychology, customer service, business and fashion.

Almost every human experience or milestone starts with a visit to the hair salon or barbershop. It is the definitive moment where you transition into an improved version of yourself both physically and mentally.

In the hands of a great hairstylist or barber, you can reaffirm your beauty and identity.

Leonardo Da Vinci who once said – “learn to see the world, realize that everything is connected” – it is my life’s purpose to help aspiring stylists and barbers truly see the world by evoking both new and forgotten ideas in the hair industry.

Perhaps with more insight and understanding of the multi-faceted branches of  hair, future beauty professionals will have the tools to create joy in the lives of others and ultimately, help make the world a more beautiful, conscious and connected place.

What is your life motto?

You have two lives. The second one starts the moment you realize you just have one. – Thanks Confucius

Why Eikonic?

Eikonic has always been a place where transformative experiences occur.

Eikonic has helped me grow professionally and given me a chance to use my talent, which is to help others reach their full potential. I’ve made it my life mission to help people accomplish their life’s greatest work through this platform, and to discover meaning and purpose by bringing joy to others.

In a rapidly changing technology world where genuine human engagement between individuals is becoming increasingly rare, Eikonic will serve as a hive for cultural innovation, collaboration, and human connection to inspire future generations.

Your advice for new students?

Write. It. Down. Our minds easily wander and great ideas often get forgotten or never acted upon. The first step to designing your dream future is to make it a tangible reality. Grab a pen and paper and write that idea down. You can come back and expand on it later. But you’ve taken the first step and begun.

What is your favourite hairstyle and why?

Vintage finger waves. There’s something hauntingly beautiful and glamorous about finger waves. Perhaps I’m in love with the time period when it was the norm for men and women to dress up whenever they went out.
